About the Estate
Vérité is a Bordeaux-meets-Sonoma project that has earned seven 100-point scores from Robert Parker since its first vintage in 1998. Founded by Jess Jackson and French vigneron Pierre Seillan, the estate produces three wines, each built around a different Bordeaux variety: La Muse (Merlot), La Joie (Cabernet Sauvignon) and Le Désir (Cabernet Franc). Seillan farms over 50 individual micro-crus across four Sonoma appellations and vinifies each one separately before blending. His daughter Hélène now works alongside him as assistant winemaker. Jackson passed away in 2011, but the partnership between the two families continues.

Heritage & Milestones
A journey through time, celebrating the moments that defined our legacy
First Vintage
Pierre Seillan produces the inaugural Vérité vintage in Sonoma County after moving his family from France. A tough El Niño year with heavy rain, but Robert Parker calls the wine one of the best Northern California reds he has tasted.
Seven Perfect Scores
Over the following years, Vérité accumulates seven 100-point scores from Robert Parker across its three cuvées (La Muse, La Joie, Le Désir), an achievement almost unmatched in California.
Jess Jackson Passes Away
Co-founder Jess Jackson dies. His wife Barbara Banke and the Seillan family continue the partnership, with Pierre's daughter Hélène joining as assistant winemaker.

Terroir
Over 50 micro-crus spread across four Sonoma appellations: Alexander Valley, Knights Valley, Bennett Valley and Chalk Hill. The vineyards sit on a range of volcanic, alluvial and clay-loam soils at various elevations and exposures. Each micro-cru is harvested and vinified separately, then aged in French oak barrels of custom toast levels. The diversity of sites gives Seillan hundreds of individual lots to blend from, and the Pacific Ocean's cooling influence moderates the warm Sonoma climate.
