Aldo Conterno
Barolo 'Cicala'
A mature Barolo from a great vintage, exuding aromas of dried roses, truffle, and leather. Silky and complex on the palate, with a long, savory finish. Classic, noble, and deeply satisfying.

About This Producer
The Conterno family's winemaking roots trace to the 19th century. In the 1920s, they bottled their first Barolo Riserva. Aldo Conterno was born in 1931. After military service in Korea, Aldo returned in 1961 when father Giacomo handed the winery to his sons. In 1969, Aldo split from brother Giovanni due to conflicting philosophies and founded Poderi Aldo Conterno after buying the "Favot" farm in Bussia. First Gran Bussia commercial vintage in 1971. Aldo passed in 2012; sons Franco, Stefano, and Giacomo now run the estate.
