Coche DuryBourgogne Aligote2014
Coche-Dury is universally regarded as one of the two or three greatest white Burgundy producers alive. Their Aligoté, from vines planted in Meursault, costs more than most domaines' premier cru bottlings. The 2014 shows why: there's a density and persistence here that most Aligoté never achieves. Lemon zest, crushed stone and a creamy mid-palate, but always with that clean, taut acidity underneath. Ten years on, it's drinking beautifully.

About This Producer
Léon Coche established the estate in the 1920s. His grandson Jean-François took over in 1973, joining his father Georges at just 14 years old. In 1975, Jean-François married Odile Dury, merging the two families' vineyard holdings to create the domaine as it exists today. Over the following decades, Jean-François quietly built Coche-Dury into one of the most sought-after names in wine, with allocations becoming nearly impossible to secure. Raphaël Coche joined in 2010 and now leads production.
