Pierre-Yves Colin-MoreyHautes-Côtes de Beaune 'Au Bout du Monde'2020
The same wine that made our earlier PYCM spotlight, but from the 2020 vintage. Au Bout du Monde ("The End of the World") comes from a high-altitude vineyard above Chassagne-Montrachet. 2020 was a warm, early vintage in Burgundy that produced richer, more generous whites than the cooler years. Colin-Morey's reductive, no-bâtonnage style keeps the wine taut and mineral despite the vintage's warmth. A white Burgundy that punches well above its regional classification.

About This Producer
Pierre-Yves worked as winemaker at his father Marc Colin's estate from 1994. In 2001 he started a small négociant business on the side, and by 2005 he had left the family domaine to go fully independent. He brought 6 hectares from his family inheritance and additional parcels from his wife Caroline Morey's family. The reductive, tension-driven style he developed (350-litre barrels, no bâtonnage, 18-20 months élevage) quickly gained critical attention. Sons Mathis and Clément now work at the estate.
