Pierre Yves Colin MoreySaint Aubin 1er Cru 'La Chateniere'2018
Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey uses 350-litre barrels and no bâtonnage, giving his whites a reductive, tightly wound style that rewards patience. La Châtenière is one of Saint-Aubin's best premier cru sites, and the 2018 has a rich, concentrated core of lemon curd and hazelnut layered over chalky minerality. The wine spent 18-20 months on lees and still has tension to burn. Drink now through 2028.

About This Producer
Pierre-Yves worked as winemaker at his father Marc Colin's estate from 1994. In 2001 he started a small négociant business on the side, and by 2005 he had left the family domaine to go fully independent. He brought 6 hectares from his family inheritance and additional parcels from his wife Caroline Morey's family. The reductive, tension-driven style he developed (350-litre barrels, no bâtonnage, 18-20 months élevage) quickly gained critical attention. Sons Mathis and Clément now work at the estate.
