Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey

Saint-Aubin 'Le Banc'

2018
1301 in stock

A village-level white that punches well above its weight from one of Burgundy's most sought-after producers. The 2018 Le Banc opens with hallmark reductive notes of flint and matchstick, evolving to reveal mineral and citrus tones, wood toast, browned butter and salted lemon curd. Medium-bodied with excellent balance between fruit, acidity and minerality. The palate is broad and mouthfilling with an oily texture, brisk acidity and generous citrus character. Clean, dry finish with attractive length and good tension.

About This Producer

Founded in 2001 as a négociant business while Pierre-Yves still worked at his father Marc Colin's estate in Saint-Aubin. In 2005, Pierre-Yves left Domaine Marc Colin where he had been winemaker since 1994. In 2006, he officially established Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey as an independent domaine, bringing 6 hectares from his family inheritance and parcels from wife Caroline Morey's family (Domaine Jean-Marc Morey). Sons Mathis and Clément now work at the estate.
