Pierre-Yves Colin-MoreySaint-Aubin 'Le Banc'2018
Le Banc is a village-level Saint-Aubin that shows the Colin-Morey house style at full stretch. The hallmark reductive notes (flint, matchstick) blow off after 30 minutes in the glass to reveal lemon curd, browned butter and stony minerality. Medium-bodied with an oily, mouthfilling texture and brisk acidity. PYCM often gets compared to Leflaive and Roulot, and wines like this at the village level are exactly why. Drink through 2030.

About This Producer
Pierre-Yves worked as winemaker at his father Marc Colin's estate from 1994. In 2001 he started a small négociant business on the side, and by 2005 he had left the family domaine to go fully independent. He brought 6 hectares from his family inheritance and additional parcels from his wife Caroline Morey's family. The reductive, tension-driven style he developed (350-litre barrels, no bâtonnage, 18-20 months élevage) quickly gained critical attention. Sons Mathis and Clément now work at the estate.
