Ciacci Picolomini D'Aragona
Brunello di Montalcino 'Pianrosso'
A powerful yet refined red from Tuscany’s celebrated region of Montalcino, Pianrosso 2012 showcases the depth and tradition of pure Sangiovese Grosso. On the nose, expect intense aromas of ripe red cherries and berry fruits, layered with warm spice, cedar, and subtle floral hints. The palate is full-bodied and harmonious, luscious dark fruit and plum mingling with soft tobacco, licorice, and a whisper of forest floor. A velvety texture and moderate tannins give structure while keeping the wine approachable now.

About This Producer
The estate’s origins date to the 17th century, centered on a grand “Palazzo” built by the Bishop of Montalcino. It passed to the Ciacci family in 1877 and by marriage became the Ciacci Piccolomini d’Aragona palace. In 1985, Countess Elda Ciacci – last of the noble line – died without heirs and unexpectedly bequeathed the entire property to Giuseppe Bianchini, her estate manager. Giuseppe transformed the farm, introducing forward-looking viticulture and expanding wine production (previously just for local use) into an international Brunello brand. Since Giuseppe’s passing in 2004, his children Paolo and Lucia have carried on, further improving quality and winning acclaim for Brunello “Pianrosso” and others, all while farming organically and honoring the estate’s rich legacy
