Ciacci Piccolomini d'AragonaRosso di Montalcino2020
Ciacci Piccolomini's Rosso di Montalcino is one of the best introductions to this estate's style. The 2020 was a warm year in Montalcino, giving this wine riper fruit than usual: candied cherry, raspberry and a touch of almond. Light to medium-bodied with bright acidity and firm but approachable tannins. At €31, this is straightforward, well-made Sangiovese for drinking now.

About This Producer
The estate dates to the 17th century and a palazzo built by the Bishop of Montalcino. When Countess Elda Ciacci died without heirs in 1985, she unexpectedly left the entire property to Giuseppe Bianchini, her estate manager. Giuseppe transformed what had been a local farm into an internationally recognised Brunello producer. His children Paolo and Lucia now run the estate, farming 40 hectares organically in the Castelnuovo dell'Abate zone.
